i loved watching the original Cosmos as a kid, and rewatching the marathon they had before the new series premiere proved to me that the original did hold up.

...of course I spent half the time trying to mimic Carl Sagans weird voice, and I enjoy watching science stuff.

the new show isnt as good; it doesnt quite capture the sense of wonder that the original series had, but Im not sure that Neil deGrasse Tyson is the reason.

the "spaceship of the imagination" concept is a little childish - Id rather they focus on the information, and if they are going to go to the trouble of animating things they should save it for the science.
